FAQ’s

I want to host a meeting at my venue, how do I do this?

Firstly thank you for thinking of us, why don’t you drop us a message on [email protected] to discus this further.

The YCSC has no fixed abode. We purposely call upon the security community to host our meetings, with this very habit we hope to open new doors around Yorkshire and find ourselves in new and exciting places monthly. If you would like to host a YCSC meeting at your venue then contact us. This isn’t an opportunity to push your company or your latest product but we are not going to be ungrateful and welcome collaboration, guest speakers and people with passion.

We would like to see venues like:

  • School halls
  • Army barracks
  • Universities
  • Conference Centres
  • Business Hubs
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Policing Venues

How do we contact YCSC?

You can find pass us (Melanie, Richard, Caroline) a message via the site contact form on the Contact Us page.

What’s the purpose of the YCSC?

The Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster has been formed, under the umbrella of the UK Cyber Security Forum, by a number of cyber security focused businesses in the Yorkshire region including Bob’s Business, The AntiSocial Engineer and CRK Consulting.

The aims of the Cluster are two-fold:-

1 – To support the members of the cluster by communicating National and International initiatives and trade opportunities, providing a networking platform to share ideas and best practice, encouraging collaboration and identifying partnership opportunities so that small cyber security specialist businesses in Yorkshire can find new ways to grow.

2 – To support the British Government’s commitment to Cyber Security (and UK Government’s Cyber Security Strategy) by building cyber security knowledge, skills and capabilities in the Region, to make businesses more resilient to cyber attacks and the Yorkshire region one of the most secure places in the world to do business.

How much does a meeting cost?

All meetings are free! All we ask is that you book your free ticket via the Eventbrite page, this allows us to keep a track of numbers and organise things effectively.

Where do you meet?

The cluster purposely calls upon businesses from West Yorkshire to host our meetings. It is with this mobile collaboration we get to bolster ties with businesses all across the region.

Can I become a member?

We welcome all people to join us, we don’t have a concrete membership structure, but you will be classed as a member after you have attended 3 meetings.
