We have received updates from DC Christopher Young at the organised crime division of the Met Police. We thought the following might be useful to members of the YCSC:
Europol are currently trying to raise awareness of the dangers of mobile malware with their Stop, Think, Connect campaign. For more information visit the Europol website.
In the run up to Halloween Action Fraud are talking about the seven deadly cyber sins – a number of areas that have been identified as being critical to ensuring cyber security. They will be releasing a different ‘sin’ each day via their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Finally the recently re-branded Cyber Aware, previously Cyber Streetwise, have launched their#ThinkRandom campaign which promotes the use stronger passwords – particularly the use of three random words together. For more information visit their Facebook site or follow them onTwitter.
Hopefully with the launch of the National Cyber Security Centre we may see a more joined up approach to these types of campaigns in the future
