The Future of Trust

IAAC is publishing its final report on the Future of Trust which can be found at here. Thanks to IAAC Access, our Community of Interest and Sponsors for their input and making this work possible. Thanks also to our collaborators, the Association of Professional Futurists and Nick Price our co-author.

“A key finding is that trust is a dynamic process best understood as ‘trusting’. This is because, as Hoffman proposes, “trusting is a process of active exploration and evaluation of trustworthiness and reliability, within the envelope of the ever-changing work and ever-changing work system”. Therefore, one cannot rely on a ‘trustworthy’ chipset or security feature alone to generate trust. Rather, trust is continually assessed within a deployed context in which a user is exposed to multiple stimuli and influences.”
